- Pulley body
- As the standard pulley rig, 80lb
- Main snood
- 30lb, with a 3/0 + 2/0 Pennell
- Dropper
- Size 10 swivel with beads and crimps
- Dropper snood
- 20lb, about 20cm, size 1 hook
- Lead
- 5–6oz on a lead link with bait clip
Build it
- Build the pulley rig as normal, but thread on a crimp, bead, swivel, bead and crimp before tying the lead link.
- Fix that dropper about halfway down the long side of the body.
- Tie the Pennell main snood to the end swivel and clip it to the lead link.
- Tie the short dropper snood and hook.
On the beach
Keep the dropper snood short so it can't reach the main snood. Over rock, leave the dropper off: it doubles the snag points.
Knots for this rig are in Knots. Line strengths, hook sizes and weights are starting points: scale them to your tackle, the ground and the tide. Diagrams are schematic and not to scale.
